Week 10 Term 2

IT'S THE LAST WEEK OF TERM!!!!!

On Wednesday, I went to the Marae! My favorite part was when I learnt how to make fry bread. The ingredients are: 2 cups of flour, 1 teaspoon sugar, 2 Tspoon Yeast, 1 cup water. Method 1. Mix water/yeast/sugar together, 2. Allow to raise, 3. Add flour, 4. Kneed dough to preferred consistency, 5. Deep fry till golden brown. We also did a range of a activities. When we came back I also learnt that birds need gravity to swallow.

On Thursday, I learnt how to find simple interest. I also was told to to do an essay competition.

 LAST DAY OF TERM!!!!!😍😍😍😍😍😍💩
Friday is finally here! I can wait until the holidays. I haven´t really done much today, so I was mainly trying to think of a topic for the essay competition which is what I am trying to do now. But I got distracted by my blog! OMG! We then had assembly it was hilarious. After school I then learnt new drills at netball practice.

HAVE A WONDERFUL HOLIDAY EVERYONE!!😝😝😜😜😍😍😇😇🤓🤓😎😎😎😎

Week 9 Term 2

I am still in Palmerston north! Don't worry it's for a very good reason!

On Monday, I finished writing the last two blogs, and started writing this one! I then went to hospice to to visit my Dadi (Grandma in Hindi) who was very very sick. We then went shopping to buy clothes because we didn't pack enough. After the second visit to Dadi we went back to the house to cook food for everyone.

On Tuesday, I went back up to the hospice for the rest of the day. We were there until 11 pm that night talking about random things like drawing and my Japanese student.

On Wednesday, Dadi past away this morning. I am very sad. She is not suffering any more and she is smiling. After the funeral people read quarn and prayed. We then ate dinner and went to bed.

On Thursday, I didn't do much. I played hid 'n' seek with my cousins and brother. My niece gave me empty sticker pack so I stuck that onto my computer and wrote her name on it. NYLA!

On Friday, I E-mailed Mrs Crowe to see if there was any work that needed doing. She E-mailed me back and said" Yes Persuasive and Book Review" So I got on with that. We then did the same thing as Thursday, but instead of going to bed we started our journey home. On the way we started watching the temperature rise and lower. At one point it was -3°!!😜😜😜

On Saturday, we got up at 7:30 am to go to my brother Jamal's soccer game. My feet were FREEZING. I was wearing the thinnest socks and my gumboots are NOT very thick at the bottom. The score was 2-2. We then went home to thaw out a bit before heading of to my netball game. We lost 15-something higher!

On Sunday, I had a rep tournament. We had to get up at 5:30 am and got to the meeting place at 6:15 pm. We had our first game at 9:00 am and one following at 9:30. We won both games. After this we won 3 more and lost won against Whakatane. 😭😭😭. We came second and they came first, but we still got medals!!!!!

Week 8 Term 2

On Monday, we had assembly first up. I got my including other band and later that day I found out that I was going to get my honesty band next Monday assembly! YAY! After morning tea, we did volleyball. I was put into a team that was filled with really god players and medium players.

On Tuesday, we had tech arts first. Mrs Tyson made us write about forces on different things like balls rolling down a hill and a sled going down a hill. She had made shoe cleaner. This also works as lip balm. After shining my shoes I had to go to the hall so that we could leave to go to the collage to watch grease. It was really cool and I knew quite a lot of people. When we came back we worked on science fair! I really needed that time.

On Wednesday, we did science fair in the morning I came up with my title! Sugar ROSES. After morning tea I was on the mat to revise adding and subtracting fractions because I got some of them wrong in the test :(. After lunch we went to french. But Mrs Shaw was busy so we didn't have it so we went back to class for a couple of minutes before going to Jump Jam.

On Thursday, I did my science fair. I finished backing my work and sticking it on my board. I finished writing up my conclusion  and Data as well. Emma helped me cut out and stick on my photos. We also had R.I assembly.

On Friday, I had a Jump Jam workshop. We learnt how to cue vocally and physically. After that we took our morning tea up to the tech foyer. Emma and I attempted to build our structure out of straws, but it did NOT work. After lunch I went home early and then drove up to Palmerston north.

On Saturday, I didn't play netball because I was in Palmerston north and I had a rep tournament, but I was obviously in P.N!

Here's a photo of my science fair board!

Week 7 Term 2

This week was a great week again!

On Monday, we did a lot of things, but it started with assembly. After assembly we did maths. During maths time I learnt how to add and subtract fractions with different denominators. It is a lot harder than just adding across ways. You actually have to do 3-5 steps before you can get to your answer. We also went to volleyball to find our team that will play against room 5 on Wednesday. I wasn't in the team, but I wasn't annoyed or sad because I'm not the best volleyball player. After that we did more maths. After lunch we learnt about some of the features that are in argument writing. Some are, Emotive language, Exaggeration and the rule of three.

On Tuesday, as usual we had tech arts. We learnt about mass and different forces. We then started making Balloon cars. I am in a group with Emma. After morning tea we did maths I carried on with adding an d subtracting fractions. After lunch we wrote our draft argument about school uniforms. We brain stormed first and then we were allowed to start our writing.

On Wednesday, I finished of my draft, proof read it and filled out my criteria sheet then handed it in. We also went down on the mat to do some stuff on reading. We learnt how to identify the main idea in the paragraph and make sure that we weren't adding to much extra information. We went to french and learnt how to count from 11-20. Afterwards we did Jump Jam it was fun as usual.

On Friday, we did maths in the morning. After morning tea we did tech arts. We were finishing off our balloon cars when the science fair boards came. We helped deliver them to the other classes. In the last block we had Maori. We learnt about the battles in Waikato area. We then had Friday sports I finally got to go to a Belmont netball training as Mrs Bayley was doing gymnastics.

On Saturday, we lost our netball game against the fourz. 😢 . I finally had my Birthday Party it was really fun.

Week 6 Term 2

This week was another great week at Te Awamutu Intermediate.

This week was only a 4 day week as Monday was Queens Birthday.

On Tuesday, in the morning, we had tech arts. Emma and I were doing really well until, at the last minute, 1 of the corners made the marble stop half way through. So our average time was 13.36 (I think). After morning tea we did maths. It was really fun because I learnt something new. RATIO! I have learnt it before, but I never understood. I do now though. It is just like doing fractions, but they are just written in a different way. During lunch I had Jump Jam competition practise. We aren't doing W.I.M.S Jump Jam because not enough teams entered, so we are hoping that we can just have a workshop. We also looked at a new song called " A Little Party Never Killed Nobody". After lunch we had SSR I started reading my new book "Turning Pointes" By Emma Freedman. We talked about how science fair is coming up and that we should nearly be ready to stick things onto our board or at least be typing up that information. After that we talked about all of the new tasks we are going to receive. 1. Book report- I am going to do the book "The Truth About Peacock Blue", and 2. Argument Writing- I am not sure yet what we are going to do it on yet but I think we will find out this week sometime.

On Wednesday, in the morning, we had indoor bowls. I found it really fun, but quite tricky to get the ball to go the right way. The ball curved so we had to aim more on an angle than straight. After lunch we had inter house winter games! I played netball. It was really fun and I got to play against some of my friends. Overall Puniu came 2nd! YAY!  We are sitting second on the leader board 2nd on the leader board with 37.5. Waipa is winning with 40 something😢.

On Thursday, in the morning we did anything that needed to be finished off. I did maths as I had nothing else to finish off. I did alot of ratio work that morning and finish 1-2 Learning Reflections. After morning tea we did...MATHS! But it was OK because I still hadn't finished all the maths I needed to do. I finished another 1 or 2 Learning Reflections. We also had school singing where we sung my favourite song "Sorry" . During lunch I had A.I.M.S Netball trials! To be honest I thought the trials were on Friday. We find out weather we got a call back tomorrow. After lunch we...did.....more..MATHS! This was fine because I only needed to do one more Learning Reflection that was about RATIO PROBLEMS! FUN(not being sarcastic)! We also had R.I Assembly.

On Friday, I did foyer duty. While I was at foyer duty I was writing this blog post. That is basically all that happened is I sat writing it and reading my book. I got a call back for A.I.M.S netball! YAY! I was sad because my friend didn't make it.

Week 5 Term 2

Week 5 has been amazing, yet very stressful for science fair tech arts, assembly and alot more.
Mr McCabe was our relive teacher for Monday and Tuesday as Mrs Crowe was away at a course.

On Monday, at assembly, 7 people from my class received silver badges. AMAZING. It was really cool to see everyone focused on the stage. Mr McCabe wasn't taking assembly so it wasn't very long. We had writing after assembly. I had done some at home the night before so I was finished and ready to draft it. I decided that I would enter a science competition called Epro8 Challenge. I entered the challenge with my 3 friends, Emma, Bobby and Jess. We called our group Little Einstein's named after Albert Einstein himself. After morning tea we were all dressed in our P.E Gear ready to go to the A.L.C to play volleyball. We didn't go because Mr McCabe was talking about how greedy humans are and how we don't know or care about events happening around the world. When he said that we didn't know or care about whaling in Japan I was slightly annoyed because I did know and definitely did care. This went right through our volleyball time. Afterwards we had maths it was really good because I wasn't as far as I would have liked to be in maths. My learning intentions were, To Order Fractions and To Use Improper Fractions And Mixed Numbers(Fractions Greater Than 1). After lunch we had SSR and reading.

On Tuesday, we did tech arts. Emma and I got straight into working on our marble run. We started sticking our marbles course on after we did 2 or 3 we timed it. Surprisingly it was only 3 seconds. We were quite silly and stuck them on to much of an angle, so we fixed it. So far we made it to 8 seconds and it needs to be 20 seconds. Next we had maths and I continued with the Improper Fractions. During lunch I had Jump Jam practise. We did Uptown Funk. Turns out that we might not be doing W.I.M.S Jump Jam anyway. But we will still teach it to the school. After lunch we carried on with maths reading or writing I did reading.

Mrs Crowe is back from the course! :)

On Wednesday, we did the science ICAS Test. I finished the test and think I did reasonably well. After morning tea we did some finishing off. I edited my writing and handed it in, did my reading and then the bell rang. I got changed into my P.E Gear ready for Jump Jam after lunch. After lunch we went to French. We did  quiz about buildings in Paris and had conversations that included, Hello my name is....... what is your name and how are you. We were late getting to Jump Jam because we went to long at French. When we got there they were doing the song Freaks.

This is a 4 day week! :)

On Thursday, I did more maths and handed in my reading. I finished all the maths that I was allowed to do. Luckily I didn't have to do the ratio's because I don't understand them.

Anyway that is basically all that happened this week at school.

On Friday, I went to the Royal New Zealand Ballet (RNZB). They performed the Wizard Of Oz. My Grandma bought me a ballet shoe signed by Lucy Green (Picture of her Below). We got home at 12 pm.

On Saturday, we lost our netball game! :( Then I went to a friends house for a party. I am really tired.

Week 4 Term 2

 This week has been great!

On Monday, at assembly Mr McCabe talked about bullying and walking on the grass. Mr Denize talked about all the sport opportunities at the moment such as AIMS, WIMS and interclass volleyball and dodge ball. Mr Ellis invited all the students that were receiving a S.H.I.N.E Band and told us what the focus was for the week. It is We include others- We show kindness.

On Tuesday, we had tech in the morning. We did more P.O.E.W's. We did a balloon rocket race. We had to design, build and make it work. I was in a group with Emma, Bobby and Jess. We took longer than expected because we were trying to it our own way and not like everyone else. Unfortunately we had to change our idea to be like everyone else's :(. For reading my group learnt about all of the different points of views that a book is written in. You can have First person, Third person, Third person limited, Third person objective, Third person omniscient. The Third person views are quite hard to tell the difference between because there are only small differences between them.

On Wednesday, we did Otago Problem Solving. Some of the questions I found really hard and I didn't know how to work them out and some I thought that some were quite easy. I got 2 out of 5. We had Jump Jam leaders at lunch time to do our new routine Uptown Funk for W.I.M.S. After lunch we had a French lesson. We learnt how to say how we are feeling and ask how are other people are feeling. We also did jump jam where I helped teach the new jump jam song, Freaks. The team picked it up really quickly. It was really fun to expirence what it is like to teach a new song to the team.

On Thursday, we had a house meeting for inter house winter games. I am doing Netball. In the morning we did a word puzzle. I found it really fun, yet really challenging. Apart from that the day was really relaxing.

On Friday, we found out that there was going to be no sport happening as the weather was a bit on the cold side. Anyway, tech arts was really fun we learnt about forces like gravity. After learning about this we started making a marble track. I am working with Emma. We have a really good design planned. Crossed fingers that it works!!!

On Saturday, I had netball. We had our first win since grading. YAY!!!

Thats pretty much it for this week I hope that you had a good week as well.

Week 3 Term 2

This week was another great week at Te Awamutu Intermediate.

On Monday, we started note taking for our new writing task that is report writing. We had a choice out of 6 different animals. I chose  a meerkat. For our reading task, we have to read a small piece of writing. Group 2 is reading Mrs Flowers by Maya Angelou. I learnt the meanings of many different words such as Aristocrat and inedible. After interval we did volleyball. It was really fun because it was my first time playing and I thought I was pretty good. We learnt how to serve, scoop and volley. I had rep netball practise which was really fun but was also really cold as we were practising in the rain.

On Tuesday, we had tech arts it was really fun as we had our first science lesson with Mrs Tyson. She is a great teacher and she is really funny. We learnt all the rules of her science room and learnt what P.O.E.W (a scientific method) (pronounced pooy) stands for. It stands for Predict Observe Explain What if.

On Wednesday, because of band camp, we had no Jump Jam or French:(! Everyone seemed to have a really fun time at band camp, but I think that the kids left in class had a fun time as well because we only had about 10 kids in class for two whole days. At netball practise we learnt new drills and skills to use in our game on Saturday.

On Thursday, we watched a movie called Jamanji. I love this movie because it is really random and crazy. At ballet we learnt a new move.

On Friday, everyone was back in class and ready to work again. Again we had science it was really fun as I got to work with my friends to do some P.O.E.W's. We had to light a teabag and make it float into the air.

On Saturday, we lost our netball game, but it was a good game.

On Sunday, I had a rep tournament. We got 2nd place!!

Saturday, 14 May 2016

Week 2 Term 2

This week was very exciting with more call back and trials.

On Monday, we had assembly. I got my first Never Give Up band. Now I have 3 bands my shine band, respect band and Never Give Up band. I also received two certificates one for a maths test and one for a basketball tournament because I got a credit and we were runners up in the tournament. After morning tea we were going to learn how to play lacrosse. We learnt  about the history of the sport like what lacrosse means. It means "the stick". Playing lacrosse doesn't look very hard, but it is really tricky. If you can see, I'm the girl in the background of the boy!

On Tuesday, I was again waiting outside the notice board waiting for the notice to be put up. By the time she put it up it was about two minutes to class time. I was so happy when I saw that Emma, Raiha, Rowan, Ella and I all got in. I was excited for everyone else I just don't know them very much. We all met in the A.L.C to practise the song freaks. We had our second to last wood tech arts today. No one completely finished, but many were very close. I did not finish and I still had a lot of work to go. At the end of this session all I had to do was put the wheels on my cassie, do the air filters and then put them all together.

On Wednesday, we had French we learnt how to pronounce a famous French name. I picked Emilie because it's my name. We also had Jump Jam Emma and I lead it was really fun because we did songs that I really like such as Can't hold us.

On Thursday, it was quite a relaxed day apart from the part were I totally forgot about the chrome books even though I had been talking to Mrs Crowe before school. The Jump Jam leaders notice was put up today I was super excited to see that me and my friends have all been accepted to be in the Jump Jam competition group.I had helped tidy the library before heading up to the A.L.C. I also got another call back for Belmont netball.

On Friday nothing much happened apart from trailing AGAIN for Belmont Netball. I think I did quite well in the trial.

Anyway, I have had another great week at Te Awamutu Intermediate. On Saturday at netball we lost 7-37. But we played as team and we tryed our best.

Week 1 Term 2

Bonjour everyone!

The first day back at school was really fun because everyone met with all friends again. On Monday, there was no assembly instead we had a powhiri to welcome the teacher who will be reliving for a teacher while she is on maternity leave and the new Japanese teacher. I also had WIMS Basketball Trials. I think I did well and have a chance to get in, but the girls that trialed were really good as well.

On Tuesday, we had a special visitor his name was Mike King. He had to sessions one in the morning and one in the afternoon our class was in the afternoon because we had tech arts. I also met the Japanese teacher properly while we were at wood. I made a lot of progress on my truck even though I made really big mistakes! One was that I glued the two sides of my truck to the bottom but instead of gluing them facing the same way I glued them facing opposite ways. The others I can't remember because they weren't as big of mistakes. In the afternoon, it was our turn to listen to Mike King. He talked about his battle with depression,  addiction and his life. It all started with not liking the way that he looked and just wanting to be liked as a kid. One day his only friend Nigel came up with a really bad joke, but he made the joke funny. Other people heard a the joke and they finally accepted him. He was finally accepted to the popular but after a while, they got tired of his jokes and started telling him to pick on other people for their own amusement. By the age of 13, he was an acholic and by 17 years old he was a drug addict. He was a drug addict and an acholic until the age of 45. At 45 years of age, he started counseling. A couple years later he started talking to kids and adults.

On Wednesday, I trialed for Belmont netball it was very difficult because of I didn't know many people's names. I felt really stressed because there was the netball trials AND Jump Jam leaders trials. Luckily I got to trial the next day.

On Thursday, Emma and I both trialed for jump jam at the same time. Mrs Bayley said it was a slightly easier audition because we auditioned during fun jump jam which is always run on a Thursday. I also found out that I had been called back to trial again for Belmont netball it was really exciting.

On Friday, Emma was bugging me to look at the notice board and I wasn't sure why? Turns out she was annoying me because I had been called back to audition again for Jump Jam leaders. I trialed again for WIMS Basketball after lunch, and then for Belmont netball before the bell rang.

Anyway, that was my week very busy and I was really tired after all the trialing. Netball on Saturday was very tiring as I did a lot of running around and so did the rest of the team and to make it worse it was really hot. We lost by 10 but we were versing year 10's and at one stage in the game we were actually winning.

Au revoir everybody!

Week 10 Term 1

Bonjour everybody
This term has been fantastique (fantastic) so far. I think I have fit in nicely at T.A.I.

On Monday, we had really long assembly I think it was 80 minutes, but Mr Mcabe has gone to Singapore to visit 5-7 schools, so they won't be so long. We were also given two math tasks. I was on the mat learning about all of the different angles and  how to measure them using a protractor. It was mainly just revision for me, though.
On Tuesday, we didn't have any Jump Jam leaders as Ms Bayley is on camp. I also started on the math tasks. I started doing my grill it was really hard as I am a perfectionist, so it took me a long time to get the lines right. I then used something to make a hole on the lines (I can't remember what is is called).
On Wednesday, only three classes were doing Jump Jam because Room's 1 and 16 were on camp. It was really fun because I got to lead with 3 other people from my class and 2 from Room 15. During this, I also learnt a new song, 'Pump It'. .Before this, year 7's were at french. We learnt how to count without looking at the numbers. This is how you count in french.

Un-one, deux-two, trois-three, quatre-four, cinq-five, six-six, sept-seven, huit-eight, neuf-nine and dix-ten.

On Thursday, Emma and I did fun Jump Jam with Mrs Finn. We lead 2-3  songs and it was really fun. It was a really relaxing day as normal, and I finished my draft of my descriptive writing. I wrote about a stream.
On Friday, I finished all of my maths and that was another very relaxing day. At tech arts, I finished doing my grill and I'm really proud of it I think it looks great. I also started my wheels and I'm finding it very difficult to do this because I am using the bench drill and not the keenest on it.

Salut everyone!

This is my writing:

L.I. To write descriptively by precise/specific nouns and verbs, to describe a place.

Stream

The current rips at the dirt forcing it to collapse. Dragging the dogs away through the concrete that lay above. Plants wave around under the ground while they wave for mercy. Eels glide through the rapids as we struggle to plant our feet in the ground. Sticks bob through the water waiting for a dog to fetch it. Oak trunks sweep across our feet while we ride the creek back to the bridge with the dogs. Weeping willows sway in the light breeze. 3 labradors paddle through the crystal water while panting after a lengthy swim. Shaking their fur after a dip before going back into have more fun. Chasing each other until one is fatigued or has no energy. The horrendous fumes of wet dog burn my nose, and when they go the smell of fresh plants and  clean water back. Peaceful sounds of birds rustling in the trees and the rush of the water flow. As we trudge through the rapids, dogs paddle beside us. Birds call to each other while gliding through the air. Vaulting into the water the puppy splashes us all. Electric fences limit how far our journey goes. Maize crops enclose on the stream. The stream lights up by the sun while the sun is breaking through the clouds. Sprinting down the stream for the last time the pups need to rest.

Week 8 & 9 Term 1

Week 8

Bonjour everyone!

On Monday, the Makahari students went to Waitomo caves and the Kiwi house in Otorohanga. We also had the sayonara party on Monday it was fun. The kapahaka group sung a song and did a haka, then it was time for the students to join in. The jump jam group was there as well. Afterwards, it was time for the Japanese students to sing and/or play games. one of the songs that they sung was Happy Birthday as it was Mr Macabe's birthday. We had to catch up on a tech art lesson because it was the safety briefing lesson as we are doing wood. Sadly on Tuesday, we had to say goodbye to the Makahari students everybody was sad and so were the Japanese students. It was weird for all of us hosting the students because some of us were now sleeping in our own bed! Happily, we had our seconded tech lesson with, Mr Graham (the wood teacher). I learnt that I am not the most talented person in woodwork. I also found out that it isn't as scary as I thought. On Wednesday, it was a normal school day and it was so close to the easter holiday. FIVE DAYS! We were all excited and to make us even more, pumped we had jump jam! Fortunately, Mrs shore was on camp, unfortunately, it meant we had to miss out on lesson of French. On Thursday, it was really relaxing, and I was really excited for the next five days.

Week 9

Week nine is A THREE DAY WEEK! This week was so fun. Even though we didn't have a full week it seemed like we were very busy.On Wednesday, we were all excited to see what our friends had got up to in the easter holiday. I had french and we revised what we did in the last lesson, except this time we focused more on numbers instead of introducing ourselves. Afterwards, we had jump jam, unfortunately we did not win the golden rock.:( On Thursday, it was relaxing as usual. It was really fun when we did chrome books, but I'm not sure why:P. On Friday, we had inter-house summer games, it was really fun. I wanted to play table tennis as that was the only sport I was good at in the choices we had. I was put into non-stop cricket. Luckily I had played cricket before! We lost three games and they were close, we won one and that was close as well.

Salut everybody! I will blog next weekend! :)

Week 7 Term 1

Salut everybody!
This was another amazing week at TAI!

On Monday, we had another assembly and the Makahari Students went horse riding and shopping. On Tuesday, we had tech arts this was really fun. I finished my bag and started stitching a mouse I didn't finish my mouse as I only had one day to do it. The Makahari students were at school.

The Japanese students went to Rotorua on Wednesday they left early and came back at five! Luckily I had netball practise till five as well. I had another lesson of french it was really fun and found out how to say goodbye and words that are used in a class room. On Thursday, the Makahari students were at Te Awamutu Intermediate for half of the day and at 1:30 they went to Pekerau school to see what a primary school looks like in N.Z.

Friday was very busy. Iforgot my shoes for tech and needed them for netball (fridaysport) and basketball practise after school. Lukey enough my friend Emma let me borow her shoes for basketball and tech and netball wasn't on. The Japanese students were at school.

On Saturday, I had junior farmer competion and my team name was Frozen. This isnt school related, but two people from my class were in the team that won the competion.

Watch for my next blog on Friday-Sunday next week.

Au revior!

Week 6 Term 1

Bonjour everybody!
This week is the best week ever even know we have done so much maths, it was great!

On Tuesday at tech arts I changed my design on my bag from "Dance is life, life is netball" to "Y?". I am thinking about giving my bag to Mai as a going away gift as she will be there the day that I finish it. I learnt how to sew a side seam on a bag and it is not very hard I thought it was going to be very difficult but it was so easy. We also had our boating safety course on Tuesday as well. We were put into 3 teams. We were the first group to go to the boat. We had to get into the boat without tipping so we had to keep the boat balanced by going one at a time, I was one of the last people on because I was scared I was going to tip the boat. another activity we did was how to rescue someone when you are on the boat and another person in the water we had to through a bag with rope inside for the other person to grab onto and we would have to pull the person in. The last activity was a group safety exercise. We were told about some different tools like a flare witch you use when you see a boat and you are stranded some where. Another was personal radio that contacted the states if you needed help. We had to form lines and swim together as group. Also we were told how to keep warm if in the water, cover your chest. On Wednesday Room 3 had Jump Jam it was really fun as always, but I learnt no new songs. Before that I had a French lesson, I learnt how to say " Hello, I am Emily, and you ". I also learnt how to spell my name in French and and the French alphabet.

On Thursday I was so excited about meeting my Japanese student for 2016! I have been waiting for a Japanese student for exactly four years. My brother Jamal hosted two when he was at Intermediate there names were Shogo and Yuki. My Japanese student's name is Mai she is funny, kind and enthusiastic towards New Zealand's culture. We also did school singing which was really fun because we sung my favourite song ''Sorry"! On Friday I had tech arts again except this time Mai was there and she enjoyed herself. There were many laughs at tech arts that day, but we still got heaps finished, yet still so much to go!

Au revoir

Week 5 Term 1

This week I learnt so much and enjoyed this week more than any other! This week we had our first student assembly, it was hilarious. My friend Sam showed everyone how to apply make-up in 10 seconds and Cheng-Yu showed us all how to talk to computers. For tech arts this week we started to design our bags, my design is very complicated so it may change. We were told what was needed and the step by step process to make the bag. We have done alot of maths this week, we learnt about things like expanding and simplifying, what and how to use powers or index notation. I also learnt what some different words were for example quotient, this word means to divide. I went to a Jump Jam leader day on Tuesday this week, we did the song Ice Ice Baby again and learnt a new song called Jai Ho. On Friday we got forms about what Japanese student we will be having. I have a girl named Mai, her hobbies include; listing to music, animation and playing game. She looks very pretty in the picture that is on the sheet of paper, sent from Japan. Also on Friday we had Inter house swimming sports. Unfortunately I had cut my foot the day before and was unable to swim more than one race as my foot was stinging from the chlorine in the water. I also had a French lesson with Mrs Shaw. I learnt how to say Hello, Hi and Good evening. I am really enjoying my time at Te Awamutu Intermediate. Bye!

Week 4 Term 1

Another very enjoyable week. This week in tech arts I finished my pillow witch says ''what's the pointe". I have also decided that I would like to be a Jump Jam leader for 2016, but I have to trial witch is fine. On Wednesday room 3 went to the museum to learn more about Waitangi day and why it is such a big part of New Zealand's history. During our visit to the museum we got to dress up as the children did 100's of years ago. I was a devious person who wanted to sail over to New Zealand without permission. Some people were lucky enough to get to use a prop. Again we did Friday sport and I did Jump Jam again.

Week 3 Term 1

Unfortunately I did not make Rock Band this year witch is fine because next year I know exactly what is going to happen and what to improve on. This week we did Jump Jam I learnt songs that I never heard of before! On Friday I was involved in Friday sport this week I did jump jam with Arden, some of my other friends were there to but from a different class. On Tuesday night I played basketball representing T.A.I , we lost our game but we are practising and improving our game. In Tech arts this week we designed our pillow on my pillow is a quote saying "What's the Pointe". Pointe spelt with an E because in ballet after normal shoes you go onto pointe shoes. This week we have also been learning all about Waitangi day. I didn't know much about waitangi day but now I know more abut what it is about. I will keep you posted about anything else that happens in the year. Bye for now!
