Week 10 Term 1

Bonjour everybody
This term has been fantastique (fantastic) so far. I think I have fit in nicely at T.A.I.

On Monday, we had really long assembly I think it was 80 minutes, but Mr Mcabe has gone to Singapore to visit 5-7 schools, so they won't be so long. We were also given two math tasks. I was on the mat learning about all of the different angles and  how to measure them using a protractor. It was mainly just revision for me, though.
On Tuesday, we didn't have any Jump Jam leaders as Ms Bayley is on camp. I also started on the math tasks. I started doing my grill it was really hard as I am a perfectionist, so it took me a long time to get the lines right. I then used something to make a hole on the lines (I can't remember what is is called).
On Wednesday, only three classes were doing Jump Jam because Room's 1 and 16 were on camp. It was really fun because I got to lead with 3 other people from my class and 2 from Room 15. During this, I also learnt a new song, 'Pump It'. .Before this, year 7's were at french. We learnt how to count without looking at the numbers. This is how you count in french.

Un-one, deux-two, trois-three, quatre-four, cinq-five, six-six, sept-seven, huit-eight, neuf-nine and dix-ten.

On Thursday, Emma and I did fun Jump Jam with Mrs Finn. We lead 2-3  songs and it was really fun. It was a really relaxing day as normal, and I finished my draft of my descriptive writing. I wrote about a stream.
On Friday, I finished all of my maths and that was another very relaxing day. At tech arts, I finished doing my grill and I'm really proud of it I think it looks great. I also started my wheels and I'm finding it very difficult to do this because I am using the bench drill and not the keenest on it.

Salut everyone!

This is my writing:

L.I. To write descriptively by precise/specific nouns and verbs, to describe a place.

Stream

The current rips at the dirt forcing it to collapse. Dragging the dogs away through the concrete that lay above. Plants wave around under the ground while they wave for mercy. Eels glide through the rapids as we struggle to plant our feet in the ground. Sticks bob through the water waiting for a dog to fetch it. Oak trunks sweep across our feet while we ride the creek back to the bridge with the dogs. Weeping willows sway in the light breeze. 3 labradors paddle through the crystal water while panting after a lengthy swim. Shaking their fur after a dip before going back into have more fun. Chasing each other until one is fatigued or has no energy. The horrendous fumes of wet dog burn my nose, and when they go the smell of fresh plants and  clean water back. Peaceful sounds of birds rustling in the trees and the rush of the water flow. As we trudge through the rapids, dogs paddle beside us. Birds call to each other while gliding through the air. Vaulting into the water the puppy splashes us all. Electric fences limit how far our journey goes. Maize crops enclose on the stream. The stream lights up by the sun while the sun is breaking through the clouds. Sprinting down the stream for the last time the pups need to rest.

Week 8 & 9 Term 1

Week 8

Bonjour everyone!

On Monday, the Makahari students went to Waitomo caves and the Kiwi house in Otorohanga. We also had the sayonara party on Monday it was fun. The kapahaka group sung a song and did a haka, then it was time for the students to join in. The jump jam group was there as well. Afterwards, it was time for the Japanese students to sing and/or play games. one of the songs that they sung was Happy Birthday as it was Mr Macabe's birthday. We had to catch up on a tech art lesson because it was the safety briefing lesson as we are doing wood. Sadly on Tuesday, we had to say goodbye to the Makahari students everybody was sad and so were the Japanese students. It was weird for all of us hosting the students because some of us were now sleeping in our own bed! Happily, we had our seconded tech lesson with, Mr Graham (the wood teacher). I learnt that I am not the most talented person in woodwork. I also found out that it isn't as scary as I thought. On Wednesday, it was a normal school day and it was so close to the easter holiday. FIVE DAYS! We were all excited and to make us even more, pumped we had jump jam! Fortunately, Mrs shore was on camp, unfortunately, it meant we had to miss out on lesson of French. On Thursday, it was really relaxing, and I was really excited for the next five days.

Week 9

Week nine is A THREE DAY WEEK! This week was so fun. Even though we didn't have a full week it seemed like we were very busy.On Wednesday, we were all excited to see what our friends had got up to in the easter holiday. I had french and we revised what we did in the last lesson, except this time we focused more on numbers instead of introducing ourselves. Afterwards, we had jump jam, unfortunately we did not win the golden rock.:( On Thursday, it was relaxing as usual. It was really fun when we did chrome books, but I'm not sure why:P. On Friday, we had inter-house summer games, it was really fun. I wanted to play table tennis as that was the only sport I was good at in the choices we had. I was put into non-stop cricket. Luckily I had played cricket before! We lost three games and they were close, we won one and that was close as well.

Salut everybody! I will blog next weekend! :)
